Games Room of The Year 2015 : Update

Posted by Jess 09 OCTOBER 2015

Our Games Room of The Year competition started in September this year with a mission to seek out the most creative and unique games rooms that the UK has to offer. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of entries that we’ve had and how great they look.

As you’ve probably seen on our Social Media Pages, the finalists for our Games Room of The Year competition have been announced and they are fantastic. Some of the entries included kitchen diners turned into a fun place for the whole family, retro bars with classic pinball machines and even a games room which initially started out as a pile of logs!

We were originally only going to have ten finalists for the voting stage but we ended up increasing this number to fifteen, due to the tough competition and quality of the entries. One finalist for each region of the UK and five 'wildcards' to show off a full range of fantastic competitors.

Now, it’s up to the public vote to determine who wins the competition overall and who receives the might £3000 cash prize. Make sure you vote for your favourite on our Games Room of The Year 2015 Voting Page, voting closes the 16th October 2015.

Since the announcement, we’ve had a lot of coverage in the press about the competition from major newspapers like The Telegraph, The Metro, The Daily Mail and The Star. We are delighted with this big response from the media and from games room fans worldwide.

The Telegraph wrote an article named ‘Games Room of The Year 2015, in pictures’ displaying all of the stunning entries from our entrants which include Adam’s Pinball Arcade room filled with his favourite pinball machines, Desmond O’Neill who created a games room in the colours of Manchester City with a family diner inside and Ben Williamson who converted his double-garage into a games room complete with a handmade bar made from wooden pallets.

The Metro also jumped to feature Games Room of the year in an article titled “The UK’s top man caves have been unveiled and we want to live in all of them”

The Daily Mail wrote an article encouraging readers to vote for their favourite games room in the competition named “An arcade in the attic or a bar in the basement: UK's best games rooms compete to become man cave of the year”

The competition also had some great coverage from The Star, who covered Games Room of The Year in a double-page spread.

Overall, the reaction we’ve had from the press has been fantastic - they love the games rooms/man caves that have been entered!

We’ve also had a few messages from customers and other man cave fans who wished that they had seen the competition earlier so that they could enter too.

Luckily for them, we are pleased to announce that we will running Games Room of The Year again in 2016 after the massive response we’ve had from the public this year. The competition will start at a similar time in September, so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for this big announcement.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our entrants and to all of the people who have voted so far, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for more updates over the next few weeks.
