Home Leisure Direct at Fusion Festival

cool stuff

We were lucky enough to go to the Fusion Festival in Birmingham this year, where we got to brush shoulders with such celebrities as Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and McBusted in the VIP Lounge.

We took a load of games room products with us and installed them in the Booty Lounge VIP area for the artists to enjoy. Among these was our Stainless Steel Montfort Pool Table (part of our exclusive pool tables range), an EVO Arcade Machine, an ArcadePro Cabinet and an AC/DC Pinball Machine.

Ed Sheeran saved the day when Justin Bieber wasn’t able to make it and stepped in to fill his headline slot to the delight of Fusion Festival goers. We were chuffed to find out that he had requested an AC/DC Pinball Machine for his dressing room! We even travelled back to Bristol to pick up this amazing pinball machine for him and bring it back to the festival.

Whilst we were there, we were visited by lots of the artists and bands who played throughout the weekend. These included Aston Merrygold, who rolled into the Booty Lounge on a Segway, Becky Hill, Dappy and McBusted.

We were also visited by comedians Ben Phillips and Elliot Giles who have become ‘Facebook famous’ through the pranks that they pull. They are a funny pair and Elliot even joined us for a few games of pool. Have you seen the video of the prank that Ben pulled on Elliot whilst on-stage at the Fusion Festival yet? It’s hilarious.

We even got to see most of the artists play on-stage at the festival. Ed Sheeran was the highlight of the weekend, he invited us to watch him perform from the front of the stage in the press section, which was amazing. He played his biggest hits like ‘Photograph’ and ‘Lego House’. Becky Hill was also one of our favourites due to her powerful voice and laid back attitude.

We managed to stay in contact with a lot of celebrities over the weekend through our Twitter page, including Rudimental, Becky Hill and Ed Sheeran which was great fun! We put an arcade machine in Rudimental’s dressing room for them and they loved it. It was originally set on the Street Fighter game but we went over and added some more games for them later on.

We were interviewed by Sacha and JJ from Capital Radio who asked us how we were getting on at the Fusion Festival and if we had any special requests from the stars. Josh, from our Outbound Sales team, featured live on the radio station. He told the presenters about Ed Sheeran’s request for an AC/DC Pinball Machine, how much Rudimental enjoyed their Arcade Machine and that Alexa Goddard enjoyed the pinball so much that she played on it right up until she had to go on stage.

Overall, our time at the Fusion Festival was very exciting! We hope to stay in touch with everyone and hear from them all soon. Hopefully our success at this festival will lead onto us being able to attend other festivals in the future.
