What a celebration!
After a year full of peaks and troughs, it's safe to say our team has been through the thick of it. Back in early 2020, the majority of the team were furloughed and didn't know what the future held. But then, the team quickly returned to their posts when it became clear the UK wanted to bring gaming entertainment into their own homes.
Demand suddenly skyrocketed and suppliers couldn't keep up due to material shortages and covid related issues. So, after thinking Home Leisure Direct would struggle during the pandemic, it was now all hands on deck to try and source pool tables and other games, then to organise a huge level of operations and customer service to ensure all of our customers could spend their lockdown fully entertained. Further obstacles cropped up, but not one member of the HLD family let out a moan. Everyone has worked their socks off to continue delivering serious fun to the nation.
It was time to recognise and reward all this hard work. On the 23rd of July, Home Leisure Direct closed for a whole day to bring together the team for a party to celebrate all the hard work throughout the toughest year yet. We gathered in an incredibly stunning location, the Clifton Observatory, in our dearly loved city of Bristol.
With possibly the best ever views in Bristol we popped the bubbles and all came together (in a covid secure way) for the first time in over a year. A year is a seriously long time to be without our work family!
We were able to put on our sunglasses and dust off our summer wear as miraculously, after weeks of rain, the sun shone for us. It was a truly glorious day, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. There was plenty of pizza and drinks to keep the fun fuelled all day long and into the evening. We all had a lot to catch up on with each other and enjoyed being able to laugh together in person, rather than over a zoom call.
All Home Leisure Direct's services (including showroom appointments, deliveries by our own team and customer service) have now returned to normal again, with all of the team back in action.
