We’ve got some exciting news - Karl Boyes, professional pool player, will be making his way to the Home Leisure Direct showrooms on the 2nd April to coach some of our lucky Facebook fans on the best way to play pool!
Karl started his pool career at the age of 14, practicing after school and often playing at his local pub, he learnt to master 8-Ball Pool and was spotted by a pool player who wanted to sign him up to play for his local pool team. Whilst playing for the team, Karl became even more competitive within the sport and grew to become an extremely good player.
In 2006, Karl switched his main game from 8-Ball to 9-Ball after training and entering a tournament where 8-Ball was played on a 9-Ball table. After practicing for a year to qualify for the event, Karl found it hard to move back to 8-Ball and kept his focus on his 9-Ball game instead.
Since then he has achieved many titles such as World Cup of Pool Champion, Golden 9-Ball Winner, GB9 Tour Winner and much more!
Most recently, Karl was part of the winning Mosconi Cup team, Team Europe, for a fourth time in December 2015, which gave him a chance to really show off his impressive skill set when it comes to the sport. The event will be taking place on the 2nd April from 2-4pm at our Bristol showrooms - please make sure you and your friend are available to attend the coaching session before you enter.
Ask Karl Boyes Your Question
Before the event, we will be filming some instructional pool videos with Karl to give you the best hints and tips on playing 9-Ball to improve your game. We will then be asking Karl to answer any questions sent in from you in a filmed Q&A Session for you to view after the session.
