Introducing Snaqua
We’re excited to announce our first foray into the food and drink sector, and it’s a bold one!
Over the past few months, the team at Home Leisure Direct have been hard at work putting together a truly unique product that we’re so thrilled to be unveiling. At long last, Snaqua has arrived!
What is Snaqua?
Snaqua is the world’s first savoury water. Yes, you read that right.
Each of our 12 savoury flavours are inspired by some of our favourite pub snacks and meals. We’ve got a range of classics, including Salt & Malt Vinegar, Prawn Cocktail, and Mature Cheddar & Pickled Onion, or, if you’re looking for something on the finer side, choose one of our gourmet flavours like Sichuan Braised Pork Belly, Sourdough Guacamole, or Lobster Thermidor!
This is, quite frankly, the most flavourful water you can find.
All of the tastiness of your favourite pub snacks, none of the excess salt, sugar and saturated fats. Snaqua is a perfect, delicious way to stay hydrated.
Why savoury water?
It’s a daring move, but not one without good reason.
The idea for Snaqua was born out of a few long nights around the pool table, snacking endlessly on crisps and pork scratching. The HLD team realised we needed a way to stay energised for a competitive night of games without having to rely on those ever-enticing pub snacks. Of course, we’ll always love the taste of a steak & kidney pudding, but we needed something a tad healthier to turn to when we needed a boost.
Then, one night, one fateful statement was uttered: “I wish water tasted better”.
It was then simply a matter of putting it all together. Combining a need to stay hydrated, a desire for flavourful-but-healthy treats, and our fanciful teammate Dave’s desire for better tasting water, Snaqua was our brilliant solution.
Unorthodox as it may be, we were determined to make some magic and put a new, delectable spin on an otherwise dull drink. After weeks of testing and trialing all sorts of methods and flavour combinations, we managed to do the impossible: make a selection of savoury-flavoured waters that genuinely taste great!
We know you’ll have your doubts – we did too. The first couple of weeks left a sour taste in our mouths, literally, but we persevered and didn’t stop until we were confident that we had a game-changing drink that truly ticks all the boxes.
To have a world’s-first is an achievement in itself, but to have a world’s-first that’s healthy and – dare we say – mouthwatering? That’s true bliss.
Where can we try it?
Now that the word is out – we’re excited to hear from anyone who’s keen on giving Snaqua a try! Snaqua will launch in the UK in mid-September 2021, in the EU & Turkey in November, and in the US, Canada, and Australia in February 2022.
