We were approached recently by James, one of two brothers who founded Pizza Pilgrims, to help fit out their latest and largest project in West India Quay.
A far cry from their humble beginnings of serving pizzas from the back of a converted van, they now have six other fixed sites, but wanted their newest and biggest site to offer something a little special.
The premises include a large outside terrace and a layout that spreads over two floors inside, so they wanted to create a relaxed gaming area downstairs that could complement their excellent pizzas and create the perfect competitive socialising atmosphere.
Bonzini Half Giant Football Table:
Doing things by half isn't always a bad thing. When you think “football table” you may well think of a standard table you might find in your local pub, but this table is different, measuring in at an enormous 3.5 meters and offering an experience like no other.
The almost indestructible heavyweight cabinet is constructed from solid beech, with hand-polished aluminium components and perfectly machined mechanisms. This quality of manufacturing sets the Bonzini tables apart from its imitators, and the heavy aluminium player and cork ball combination give you ultimate ball control.
The table has also been customised with a glass top, meaning the Bonzini also doubles up as a dining table to give customers the option to pick teams while they eat, and then finish off with a game.
No Fear Pinball Machine:
Designed by legendary pinball designer Steve Ritchie, No Fear is an adrenaline pumping adventure in extreme sports that will test the mettle of any pinball player. No Fear will have you skydiving, surfing, dirt-biking and snowboarding your way to the high score.
This is an original machine released by Williams in 1995. The machine is fully reconditioned and actually has its back glass signed by Steve Ritchie himself. Just like everything else on the premises, this machine is set to free-play.
Mario Kart Corner:
The guys have teamed up with Nintendo to create a dedicated Mario Kart corner, complete with custom décor and a Nintendo Switch, along with four controllers for customers to play at their leisure.
