If you were listening to Chris Evans this morning then you might have heard him talking to Vassos Alexander about Home Leisure Direct's Pinball Machines.
Now, we love all things Pinball and are guilty of being self-confessed nerds when it comes to the ins and outs of pinball machines. So, you can imagine our excitement when Chris Evans was chatting about wanting to buy a pinball on Virgin Radio this morning.

The Getaway
Last year, Virgin sports reporter Vassos Alexander phoned us up at Home Leisure Direct and was looking for a Pinball Machine for his pad. After speaking to our sales team on the phone he raced ahead and chose The Getaway: High Speed II pinball made by Williams. The goal of the game is to run the red traffic light, then get away from the armed police pursuit that results and chases you down the highway. Strap yourself in, run the red light and leave the police in the dust!
What Vassos loves about his pinball:
- The lights are exhilarating with hundreds and hundreds of bulbs illuminating the entire pinball machine.
- The multi-ball feature creates a boost of excitement: "If you go through the Red Light, you just have to watch it because balls start raining down on you!"
- The wire tracks take the pinball hurtling all around the machine at different levels: "it's got one of those rollercoasters for balls which go round and round really, really quickly, it's really cool".
The Incredible Hulk
Chris Evans goes on to say which Pinball Machines he has been looking at, starting with the Incredible Hulk. Any Marvel or Incredible Hulk fan would also love this angry green machine in their pinball collection. The original 1979 Gottlieb Incredible Hulk pinball machine features all the classic comic graphics from back in the 70's and 80's. Or, the 2003 Avengers Incredible Hulk pinball machine created by pinball master manufacturers Stern follows the more modern Hulk.
What Chris loves about the Incredible Hulk pinball:
The raging Hulk's animated target with the magnetic ball feature creates a pinball frenzy. Chris particularly liked this feature and goes on to say "When you get to a certain point in your game the Incredible Hulk pops up and tries to grab your balls. Who doesn't want a bit of that on a Friday night?!"
The Beatles
The next favourite pinball of choice for Chris is the original 1964 Beatles Gold edition pinball machine. As the most successful band in the world, The Beatles need no introduction. Their music caused a Revolution in the 1960s, and now you can Get Back to enjoying them on this fantastic retro-styled pinball from Stern.
