On 20th December 2017 we visited Headway to give them a very special gift - a Cornilleau 500 Indoor Table Tennis Table signed by the contestants on this years X Factor.
We recently supplied a Cornilleau 500 indoor table tennis table to the X Factor house.
The table came back to us with signatures from all of the X Factor finalists. Rather than selling the table or keeping it, we thought it would be a great idea to a local charity.
We donated the table tennis table to Headway, the charity provides early and ongoing support for the brain injured, their families and their carers. This support also includes the social and cognitive rehabilitation therapy they give to their clients to assist them in independent living.
Our Sales Manager, Roger, visited Headway to present them with the gift and spoke to Jane, the chief executive officer of Headway Swindon who said: “We are extremely grateful to the Home Leisure Direct team for their generous gift. The table will be a great addition to our centre and our clients will get tremendous benefit and enjoyment from playing. Brain injury survivors experience both physical and cognitive difficulties that can be helped by taking part in exercise. Table tennis requires concentration, focus, and good hand-to-eye coordination that helps with controlled physical movement. Playing in teams will also help our clients to improve their social skills and self-esteem.”
