With the sun finally out in the UK, it’s a perfect time for some outdoor activities; a trip to the beach or to go for a bike ride. Well, why don’t you give your family a surprise with a table tennis table!
Over the years, table tennis has become more and more popular, especially in Summer where they even begin to compete for popularity with our pool tables. With being easy to play and the well-documented health benefits, no wonder that all schools are jumping onto the Table Tennis trend.
There are a ton of health benefits for both kids and adults alike when it comes to playing. Be it improving your hand-eye coordination or stimulating the brain. These are worthwhile benefits in of themselves, but there are also some lesser known benefits which are amazing!
Did you know that an hour of playing table tennis, on average, burns between 200 to 350 calories, or that it improves your sleep patterns and overall mental health?

If you’re still not convinced, then how about the fact that table tennis helps in the treatment of brain diseases. Recent studies show that table tennis is beneficial in the treatment of brain-related problems like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The aerobic exercises from table tennis are neuroprotective and counter the progression of these conditions, making table tennis the perfect activity to aid in improving brain function.
If you think that your family would benefit from playing table tennis, then give our indoor or outdoor table tennis tables a look. What better way to surprise the family for the coming summer?
Did you know?
Back in December 2017 we donated a table tennis table signed by the stars of ITV’s popular reality talent show - The X-Factor. The table was graciously received by the Headway of Bristol, a brilliant charity devoted to aiding those afflicted with brain-related injuries.
The charity provides early and ongoing support for patients, their families and their carers. This support also includes social and cognitive rehabilitation therapy to patients to assist them in independent living.
Headway is an excellent charity that does fantastic things for those in need of their services, if you’d like to donate to this great cause, you can visit their JustGiving Page and contribute: https://www.justgiving.com/headwayswindon/Donate
