A good rack is essential to ensure that the balls are in proper contact with each other, and act as you would expect when you break. For 8-ball pool and snooker, a triangle is used to rack up 10 or 15 balls in a triangular configuration. In 9-ball pool, a diamond is used to arrange the balls. For ball storage between games, we also sell ball trays and cases. These allow you to store balls so that they are not in contact with each other, maintaining their surface quality and integrity, and also making them easier to transport and move around.
While you may have been supplied with a plastic triangle with your pool table, replacing it with a wooden one will make your set-up much more attractive. Please ensure you are picking the right triangle or diamond for the size of balls you use; English pool tables come with 2" balls which require a 15 ball triangle, while American pool tables will need to accommodate 10 x 2 1/4" balls. If snooker is your game, you will need either a 10 or 15 ball triangle in either 2", 2 1/16" or 2 1/4".
