Here we have Dean Mirfin's Bar 152. Forget about going to town for a crisp pint or game of pool, when you can take a few steps through your own garden to an incredible hideaway full of everything you need for a brilliant Saturday night... or any time in fact! This uber-trendy home bar is what Dean has created during 2021, securing him a sure place as a finalist for Games Room of the Year 2021. After purchasing a pool table from Home Leisure Direct, Dean's wife shared some photos online of the finished project and received a great response from others who said they just had to enter the Games Room of the Year 2021 competition.
Dean's expert design skills have turned his garden room into a gorgeously luxurious pool bar, with a Jack Daniels pool table complete with the iconic Label logo, and illuminated by contemporary chic hanging lights. The whole room is framed with a deep and dark paint finish, professional paneling and wood flooring, as well as a quality sound system to create the perfect ambiance for coming together with friends and family to shoot some pool.
Step over to Dean's Bar beside the pool table and you'll find Moretti on tap, as well as classic Moretti neon lights, and a whole selection of other beverages. Whilst enjoying your crisp pint you can take yourself back to the arcades with a bar top arcade machine hooked up to the wall-mounted tv for some of your favourite retro games.
Framed on the walls are some brilliant pieces of memorabilia featuring Freddie Mercury, Mohammed Ali, and Sean Connery as Bond, alongside iconic quotes from each legend. Dean also has a Gronkowski "Gronk" American Football shirt from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end player. But, the standout piece has to be the unique custom-made Porsche 911 Bonnet, finished in Gulf livery, and hand-made in vinyl.
What's Dean's favourite part of his uber-trendy games room? "Obviously the bar, but I like all the parts really, from the pool table, the 911 car bonnet on the wall and retro arcade machine. I just keep trying to add interesting and individual bits."
We asked Dean to talk us through the process of his games room creation: "We started clearing the site around 20th March this year, the actual building was started around the 31st March. By the 18th May, I was able to enjoy my first pint, although there was lots to do and still is. Getting the materials was the main reason for most of the delays but this was all completed around 23 May." Now that's a huge amount of work in a short amount of time, and here at Home Leisure Direct, we are really impressed with the results. Dean explained "I am still adding bits now. I see ideas on other people's projects and I think, 'that looks cool, I wonder how I could make that work', and I find a way to add and improve my own room. Next year I am hoping to create a terrace area outside the bar for the warmer days along with another seating and firepit area."
Good luck to Dean with his Games Garden room in this year's competition!
