Snooker is a wonderful game that has been played for hundreds of years, with its roots dating back as far as the 16th Century to the game of billiards. The modern game dates back to the 19th century, when it was commonly played by members of the armed forces stationed in India. They adapted the games of "life pool" and "pyramid" to become the game of snooker.
It requires skill, patience and a steady hand. The professional players make it look easy when watched on television, but those who play the game know how hard it is to be that good. The correct stance and cue action are critical to success on full-sized snooker tables.

Due to the specialist nature of this product professional installation is essential, which is why it is provided with every snooker table we sell, free of charge. If your intended location is up or downstairs please talk us through the route it will need to take, and we will be able to provide you with a quote for any additional costs.
A snooker table is a luxury purchase and our dedicated team can give you all the advice you need in choosing a table that best suits your needs and requirements. We offer the deluxe Tagora range from Sam, as well as the Rasson Magnum for a more cost-conscious snooker table.

Rasson Magnum Snooker Table - 12ft
The traditional finish for a snooker table is mahogany, along with a green cloth. Mahogany is an expensive wood, so many tables are made with a mahogany cushion rail, which is the part most seen and touched. The rest of the table may then be made of other woods for the supports, such as plywood which is extremely strong and not prone to warping or cracking under heat or pressure.
Many buyers nowadays are looking for a more modern look for their snooker table. Oak has become very popular, which more often matches the interior of a modern home. The Tagora range from Sam can be provided in the traditional mahogany finish, but also in either black or a fantastic silver finish. The Rasson Magnum has been used in the Champion of Champions tournament, among others, and has a very moden look.
If none of these fit the bill, and you are looking for something bespoke we offer a full design service where you can specify the style and wood used to create something truly exceptional. Our designers are able to visit you to receive your brief for a small fee which is refundable upon placing your order. Alternatively you can simply give us a telephone call.
Whatever your requirements please contact our expert advisors on 0800 622 6464 or 01454 413636, and we will be happy to help.
