If you're looking for a games room with an American Chalet feel, complete with Pool, Darts, and a bar, plus an outdoor log fireplace for those colder evenings, then look no further. Glenn Fletcher has created a beautifully rustic, handcrafted games room, awarding him a place in the Games Room of the Year 2021 finals. We found out from Glenn why he wanted to enter this year's competition: "I entered games room of the year to support Home Leisure Direct by showing my appreciation in advertising the fantastic, superior quality, supreme winner vintage pool table which finished off our games room perfectly, the superb looking pool table looks sublime within the hi-end build we constructed."
Glenn's games room is more than a room, as the cleverly designed space has blurred the lines between indoors and outdoors with corner bi-fold doors opening onto the patio and lawn. Rack up a game of pool on the Supreme Winner Pool Table finished with green cloth and classic pool table lighting. Slip over to the homemade bar for a chilled glass of your favourite cocktail or highball.
Take a seat in the cozy lounge area in front of the Woodburner whilst you put the world to rights with loved ones. Breeze through the open doors into the outdoor living space where you can stoke up the coals in the enormous built-in grill BBQ or relax with a glass of champagne and a cozy blanket in front of the outdoor fireplace and watch the stars fill the night sky.
What is Glenn's favourite part of his hi-ed construction games room? "Our favourite part of the games room (apart from the well-stocked bar!) has to be the lounge area where friends can relax in front of the Woodburner in the colder months whilst others enjoy playing pool. We positioned the pool table next to the corner bi-folding doors so that it feels like the pool table has been brought out into the garden during the summer months creating a fantastic atmosphere for all to enjoy therefore this area is a close second."
With such a large project we wondered how Glenn built his games room: "The games room was completed in 3 months and was constructed during the first lockdown, our aim was to construct a building that had an American ranch feel to it and comes complete with, running hot/cold water, separate WC, sky tv, Sonos music system, Woodburner, vaulted roof construction giving the room a nice Airey feel when playing pool, brick built BBQ, outside fireplace and of course the vintage pool table with several quality Home Leisure cues!"
Is there anything else Glenn has in mind for his very own home-built American ranch? "I have plans to ditch the existing coffee table and replace it with the Gamepro invader 60 coffee table arcade machine……..but don’t tell the wife just yet!".
Glenn, we wish you the best of luck in the Games Room of the Year competition as well as with your wife when you replace the coffee table with a Gamepro invader.
